The Little Tokyo Library is to be situated on a site of 20,000 square feet adjacent to the vacated St. Vibiana Cathedral building. Three important factors have influenced the location and configuration of the 12,500 sf library building: the urban implications of the site, the relationship of the library mass to its' context, the functional and spatial relationship of the library to its users. To achieve the maximum potential of the library organization, careful consideration was given to potential views from the building, circulation patterns, natural light, building orientation, internal and external functional relationship and the architectural massing of the building
