Main > Ontario Pedestrian Bridge
The bridge spans 120' to provide a means for pedestrians to cross heavily trafficked access to the Ontario airport without interupting the flow of vehicular traffic. We proposed that the city purchase some additional parcels of land to accommodate gently sloping ramps on top of which the bridge would rest. This eliminates the need to build large concrete ramps with chain link cages to lead up to the bridge which improves the appearance of the main access to the airport, improves the ability to maintain the areas around the bridge, and reduces the potential for vandalism. The bridge is built entirely of readily available steel components.
